Welcome. My name is Nikolas Sideris, and I have been devoted to my art for over 30 years. I was born and raised on the island of Naxos, the son of a sailor and an islander.

From an early age, the sea became an inseparable part of my life—a presence as constant as it was inspiring. Over the years, I came to see the sea not just as a setting, but as a teacher. In its calm and in its storm, it reminded me of how small we are in its vastness. Its offerings—pieces of driftwood, worn by time and tide—are often overlooked, considered lifeless or without purpose. But each one carries its own story.

Much like Odysseus, every piece of wood begins its journey on land, is cast into the sea, travels through the unknown, and eventually returns—changed. The trials it endures shape its character. In much the same way, we are all shaped by our own journeys. This is what inspires my work. Because in the end, it is the journey that completes the soul— and that journey lives within every piece I create.
